For the longest time, I have struggled with a closet that is bursting at the seams with different styles all wanting to be worn. So why does it feel like I never have anything to wear?
What I've realized by going through the individual pieces in my wardrobe over and over trying to create outfits is that I have a lot of beautiful, stand-alone pieces but nothing that is cohesive. Every piece I picked up was begging to be the center of attention, and when you have a wardrobe full of clothes all competing to be the statement piece, it's practically impossible to curate outfits. What I wanted more than anything was a wardrobe that could be mixed and matched to have endless outfits, with a small selection of signature pieces that stood alone as the focal point in those outfits.
That is where my journey to creating a capsule wardrobe started. With a capsule wardrobe, you have a small collection of garments that serve as essential items that don't go out of style. They are similar in color palette and style so the pieces complement each other instead of fighting for attention. The idea is to be able to create a large selection of outfits with a small selection of clothing.
